What do you guys think is it just for Mad Max or will we see more major motion pictures coming to Steam?

Steam's had movies for a good while now.

Mad Max is the first studio movie that they've gotten, though.

Yeah the first video they did was quite some years ago, a short of guys stuck in a car surrounded by zombies if my memory serves.

I'm not into streaming movies, I want a high quality copy to keep on disc or go home, movies will have to do what games did which is start to become available in formats that rival pirated copies, that means a high def, DRM free, advert free MKV on my HDD.

Only way I'm streaming is if I rent access to the media via some kind of monthly sub, and quite frankly £13.99 is a joke for only streaming access.

One of my favorite comedians Louis CK did this, all his shows are available on his site for a tiny fee of $5, you get about 3 downloads each and a high quality 1080p mp4 to keep and do whatever you want with. He's made millions doing that.

My guess is with the Steam Boxes, you will see Valve enter into some partnerships with movie distributors to bring AAA movies to Steam. This would fold in with their desire to make the Steam Box, with Steam OS, the go to system for TV entertainment.

Not surprising. The studios will let anyone whose DRM is robust enough sell their wares.

Wouldn't buy movies but I'd be interested in their free movie weekends, assuming they follow a similar model to how they handle games.

Free use for a single-time-use product? LOL

"This content is only available in an online streaming format."
At full price.
No thanks. I'd rather buy a Bluray.

I am really starting to wish they would segregate the categories as I am getting tired of seeing non-game stuff in the holy bastion of PC gaming.
