Steam has A LOT of sales this time of year, people. Holiday deals season stretches until a week or two after New Year's, keep an eye out.

A week or 2 AFTER New Years? I don't remember that.

also, at one sale the last day WAS a recap of popular titles that were on sale before, but it looks like they kept all the games on sale during the entire run of the sale so no need to do that this time.

The Christmas sales went about a week after Christmas last year. Something like 10 days all together. The last day was a recap of the top sellers. However last year's Black Friday sales had a new set of sales for Cyber Monday. So I would guess that would happen again. Also there is still one more indie pack to go up for sale and a few of the big packs that haven't been on sale yet so I'm sure they will have new single sales too.

I wouldn't say I've been disappointed, but it looks like I'll be waiting for the Xmas sale before I pull the trigger on any purchases.

I seriously doubt the xmas sale will differ much, we might see some titles that we didn't see this weekend, but i'm pretty sure it will just be very similar.

Yeah mostly garbage games or games that I already have. didn't really see many big/well known titles.

I thought the offerings in this year's BF sale were pretty weak. The only "big" titles they put on sale was stuff that they ALREADY put on sale during last year's BF event (or this year's summer sale). I know because I bought some of it back then (like Batman and L4D). I was really excited for it and hoping they'd have some new stuff, but it was a major let down. I guess it's a good thing, since I could stand to save the money. I suppose when you're like Steam and have a sale every weekend, they don't really need to whip it all out for BF.

Hopefully their Christmas/holiday sale will be a lot better.

Amazon's sales were pretty decent and I wound up buying several PS3 games, but PC is where my heart is. Come on Steam! I was hoping for AC2 and ME1 & 2, and BFBC2 (which I actually bought on amazon instead, it was cheaper).

I was a bit dissapointed as well. Though I did pick up Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTYE for $11 and am enjoying that.

Last year's big sale wasn't during Black Friday. It was in December as I recall. We'll have to wait and see what they offer in December.

Today's CyberMonday, though. Aren't there going to be big sales on Steam, like there are everywhere else?

Couple more hours to the big finale! I'm ready to spend some money. I thought there were great deals, between ARMA, Dawn of War, and L4D2. Hoping for some more! Possible Unreal Tournament, Fallout, or others.

Got patrician 4 for 10. 3 was the first I had and spent many hours trying to safely sail the seas.

Mount and Blade: Complete has been added to the Steam sale for $10 with less than an hour left, badly screwing everyone who bought Warband alone for $7.50 a day ago...

I jumped on this becuse despite the mediocre reviews a lot of people say it's very good and the multiplayer combat is awesome.

Yeah, unless something really jumps out at me today, I'll wait for the Xmas sale to start, which is always epic. Last year I spent probably $100+ on the XMas sale and ended up adding another 40+ games to my Steam account.

Most of which I haven't really touched...but that's neither here nor there.

I'm pretty sure this is the last day for sales, as in the sale will end in ~30 mins. It said the sale ends Monday, and if there was another sale upcoming that would mean the sale would end Tuesday.

They could have a surprise "encore" sale, but I doubt that would be worthwhile either.

Right...

But it's "Cyber-Monday". I would be surprised if Steam didn't offer up something for today. It's the biggest online shopping day of the year.

The sales are for the 24-29th. Today is the 29th, so we will see another set of sales today.

No it didn't screw anyone. In fact, you got screwed if you paid an extra $2.50.

Mount and Blade Warband includes the game Mount and Blade. There's some differences between the two, but ultimately it's the same game and Warband is the much better product.

AFAIK, though, theres better mod support vanilla Mount and Blade.

From what I understand from the vets, Warband is essentially a better version of the original M&B, so you're not missing out.

Also: SP is addictive, and is best played with several mods. Most notably Diplomacy and Custom Commander, which fix a lot of annoying things with the game (eliminating some needless clickthrough menus, etc) and also add a LOT more feature.

MP is fantastic because of the combat system. I highly recommend you check out cRPG. It's similar to SP in that you level up a persistent character online. Some people don't like having to level up, but I'm enjoying it a lot. A massive cRPG patch is coming in December which will make it even more new-player friendly.

Shoot me a PM if you have questions and I'll try to help.
