Steam begins pre-purchase for Empire Total War

Nice! Is the Rome Total War Gold inclusion a limited time offer? I'd hate to miss out on that (woot for digital backup), but I'm not 100% on board for Empire Total War...

Isn't it a little too much in advance? I mean four months? I think I will wait because maybe one or two weeks before its release they might make some $5 rebate thing like they've done to other titles not long before they were released. In other words, the prices for yet-to-be-released games on Steam sometimes tend to not be definitive until the release itself.

Very true, they usually have a 10% off the week prior or the opening weekend.

Ok... even if I did that, I'd delete it by Christmas cause I need the HDD space. Why I decided on an 80Gb HDD when a 320Gb was $20 more is a mystery. Can't just buy a new one cause my SATA ports are duds (didn't RMA, didn't know how to remove CPU fan or want the trouble). IDEs are occupied.

Agreed. That happened to me for FC2. Oh, and I already have R:TW Gold anyway.

I'll wait a while till the DRM info comes out

Creative Assembly usually has a benign DRM scheme that doesn't punish the customers. Times do change though, hopefully they won't decide on the Spore/Red Alert 3/Far Cry 2 model and shoot themselves in the foot.
