No thread on this that I found... sale just started. First time I've seen a sale start and the servers were still super responsive... but none of the deals were listed right that I clicked through. They seem to be correct now though.

Rocket League is 50% off when it's normally 40% so I may pick that up finally (I've had it on Xbox for a year now, still play it regularly)... that's all I was shooting for this time around.

This actually seems to be a fairly decent sale, at least compared to the last several sales.

25 games on wishlist on sale, not sure that any are quite low enough for me to bite...
I'd probably go for shadow of war if it wasn't for the P2W garbage they've implemented. Might have to vote with my wallet on that one. Got plenty of other stuff to play anyhow.

Most of the deals I've seen look like 'normal sale prices' - some even not quite that, e.g., Darkest Dungeon is 50% off $9.99.

I usually consider half off to be a solid sale price, less than that and you're in meh territory. Though to be fair, any game that's well rated for under $10 is probably worth a buy, that's like, what breakfast costs.

Well the new Middle-Earth Shadows of War game released six weeks ago is 40% off... though a review criticizes its overuse of loot boxes to buy for cash.

Yeah unfortunate cuz I'm a sucker for Tolkien, I just have a substantial problem with the over-monitization of my past-time.

do we really need a thread every year? we know its gonna happen and whether we have Steam installed or not, any of us can go and see what they've got for sale.

Actually looks like a decent sale this time around. Really tempted on a few, haven't had that happen in a couple years.

AC: Syndicate is the same price it was last year, and more expensive than it was earlier this year. Looks like it's cheaper on Amazon.

Was just coming to say, if you have any interest whatsoever in a Steam Link, $5 is highway robbery. It's my exclusive HTPC connector (wired only, don't bother if you only have wireless support).

Ended up getting Thief 2 for old time's sake ($1), Devil Daggers ($3), Grow Up (loved the first one, $3), Mount and Blade: Warband ($6), and Vanquish ($10). Still eyeballing a few, specifically Fallout 4 collector's edition or whatever, and possibly Planet Coaster.

This year I bought:
All DLC for XCOM 2 (already had the base game).
I really, really enjoyed XCOM 2. I've already started playing this.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
I sometimes have my friends over and we play fighting games against each other on my TV. MK9 is currently the favourite but I think it might be dethroned my UMVC3. Will have to have a trial run.
Grim Dawn: Ashes of Malmouth DLC
Already owned the base game and I like the look of the new classes.

I saw Project Cars 2 was on sale, and it was something I looked at earlier to use my Oculus Rift with. However, reviews are mixed - any feedback from AT?

Wolf: New Colossus is on sale for $30 (half off). There is a DLC season pass deal for $40.

Stupid question time: Are season passes just another term for bundle or is there some sort of subscription involved?

Season passes normally are DLC packages, not subscriptions - 'season' refers to the period of time the DLC is released.

The terms have been abused to mean various things so you need to shop carefully.

It's supposed to mean that you will get every DLC released in that season(year) "for free" that's what you are paying for.

Considering some larger games - likely to get Planet Coaster for $20, Humble Bundle has Civ 6 deluxe for $36 (for their monthly subscribers), and others.

Firewatch looks good for $7.99, I'm not into horror or survival games but Darkwood looks interesting - I find sometimes a genre I don't like still has a good game, like I don't like racing games but loved Burnout Paradise.

The Divinity games are on sale - Dragon Commander I paid about $30 for on Kickstarter is 90% off $4, older games are 59 cents.

I picked up some DLC for Cities Skylines* that I didn't have and thats it so far. I'll probably wait for the Christmas sales for anything else.

*(oh, Paradox games and their endless overpriced dlc packs)
