Having a weird issue that I've been unable to find others having.
When launching then playing games in Steam, particularly Team Fortress 2 and Fallout 3, I get a flickering mouse cursor in ADDITION to my working mouse cursor. the flickering background mouse cursor stays still, doesn't move with my mouse. It's a really weird issue I first noticed the issue a month or two ago.
Windows XP MCE 2005, fully patched/updated
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.20 GHz
4 x 1 GB Corsair XMS DDR 400 RAM (memory hole disabled so XP will boot)
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe (BIOS memory hole enabled for Windows 7, so I can use my 4 GB of RAM)
dual XFX 7950 GT extremes in SLI mode (latest NVIDIA driver)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB HD (currently dual partitioned with Windows XP and Windows 7. Used to also have linux distros for triboot via the GRUB launcher).
Dell 2405 FPW 24" widescreen LCD (I usually connect my mouse's USB reciever to the powered USB hub on the monitor. The mouse will still be dropped by Windows 7 if I use a "direct" USB port on the computer itself).
I've tried killing all sorts of background apps. setpoint, lightscribe, antispyware, I've set bitdefender to gaming mode... I've checked my pointer settings in Windows XP. No trails enabled, default windows scheme, etc...
It's really annoying having a flickering cursor floating in the same spot on my screen while gaming.
I do NOT have this issue in Windows 7 64 bit RC, but there are other issues with that OS.
