Anyone know if sharing a STEAM account is allowed?

I have a few games on my acount that I don't play and are not even installed. Could I share my account my a friend so he could play those games?

Bad idea:

1. Friend could get a universal ban and thus you will be banned
2. Only one steam account is allowed to be online (for any game) at a time

people share accounts all the time. just can't have both of you logged into to the same account at the same time. and if he ever decides to download cheats and gets caught you are hosed.

he's not one to cheat, so i doubt that would happen but only being able to be logged on one at a time kills it.

ok, whatever. he doesn't even like to play games online with other people, except for me, and its just 1 vs. 1.

For some games (HL2, Im not sure about others) you can transfer the license to him for $10.

You can probably pick up HL2+CSS from the bargain bin for $15 or less.
