Steak Marinades & Rubs

I'm looking to try some new steak styles Friday night. Any one got any good suggestions for their favorite steak marinade?

How about other marinades used for other dishes you like? Chicken, etc...?

I don't marinade steaks.

For chicken, I generally use lemon pepper or when I have the time I make my own red onion honeymustard bbq marinade.

i usually just use those steak seasoning sprinkles.

for something different, you could try some Asian-style marinades.

I usually rub it down with Worcheshire sauce, then sprinkle on Cajun spices, garlic powder, Cayenne pepper, black pepper, chives.

I can only afford the "Top Round" steaks, nothing fancy like Porterhouse or Tenderloins. 🙁

Hm..I'm thinking of trying this rub...see what you think:

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup ground black pepper
1/4 cup paprika
2 tbsp garlic poweder
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

What do you think?

we just made a great london broil for din din and i put the meat in a marinade which included:
soy sauce (lite)
worstishire sauce
lemon juice
garlic
dried onion
veggie oil

eyeball it so that it covers a good part of the beef.
It will just give it a nice subtle flavor if you broil or girll it!

Some rub that Mak's Meats sells locally... Only for cheaper cuts of beef though, particularly when we're cooking them as a roast.
