My roommate thinks this is gross, but I like mine just about as rare as possible with the middle warm. Man, steak is just about the best thing.

When I can't grill, I set the oven on broil. I leave my broiling pan (baking pan with a thing that sets on top with grills) in the oven to get hot also. Throw the steak on there so it'll sear the bottom of it, toss some garlic and onions on top, and put it in the oven for 4-6 minutes on each side. :D

Medium rare, always. Enough to off those pesky bacteria at least. Oftentimes at restaurants "medium rare" gets you "medium" (about 75% where I'm at). I like my carcass juicy and tender not hard and burnt.

*drools* Man I haven't had a steak in months. May need to buy some fillets soon! :D

My roommate will only eat his well done. I felt sorry for the restaurant because they kept trying to cook a 20oz porterhouse well done without turning the outside to charcoal. ;)

Medium. Atually, if I have my way entirely, I like for the outside to be charred to hell and back (but not burnt....just crispy where the seasonings have kinda fried and hardened) and the inside to be pretty pink and juicy.

I throw it under my saddle in the morning and ride on it all day. It's good and tender by evening as is.

Bloody.

"Their steaks are so juicy here that you need extra rolls to sop up all the blood!"

Medium to Medium-Well Done. Depends on the steak and what else I'm eating with it..

That totally makes my roommate sick. I'll be sopping up the blood mixed with all those seasonings with a slice of bread or a roll. Man, that stuff tastes good. He just turns away. He doesn't like eating steaks with me. His girlfriend prefers steaks medium.

I will admit this...I'm spoiled when it comes to steaks.

My family loves steaks...my father says that when he was a child he never had any meat whatsoever. It was a rare occassion when he did, and it usually wasn't satisfying. Well he's making up for it now...well for the past 17 years, and I've had steak prolly about 2x a week...sometimes 3.

We get the good stuff that is relatively cheap to moderate for a steak, ya know, ribeye, t-bone, prime rib, all taht sorta stuffs...just no filet mignon. My dad makes really good steak, as do some restaraunts...but all food gets repetitive after a while.

To answer your question though,
I like my steak soft...and that usually means medium rare. I hate the blood though...nasty.

Like in the movie The Cowboy Way.

I used to like mine well done...

then I went to a restaurant where my 'well done' steak looked like it had only been run through a warm room.

I never eat steak well done anymore ;)

Hot and bloody is the way I like it :D
