This crap is spyware/adware... my dad installed it last night and I can't get the stupid shyt off. I tried deleting all the registry entries... I ran Ad-Aware... nothing removes it... once you reboot the shyt is back. If you see any of those windows pop up asking if you want to install this... DO NOT DO IT!!! I can't for the life of me figure out why he does this crap all the time... then lies and says he didn't do it... stuff doesn't just happen by itself... am I right?

yeah, you are right. someone clicks something, every time. they do not read, and take the (flashing, highlighted, outlined, extra-large) YES button, instead of the little NO button, or if there is not a "no" or "close", right click close.
I have had success getting that kind of sh!t this way:
1) let adaware do it's thing.
2) boot into safe mode.
3) find file on C:\ and toss in trash.
4) empty trash.
5) reboot, no more crap.

Doesn't always work... like for this... even had the latest downloads for it... Ad-Aware can't remove all of Gator either... leaves bunches of crap behind.

Jeff, that is just the first step.
Then I go in and do 2,3,4,5 to get that stuff left behind:p

I did those too... I even searched the registry for any entries made by those things... thought everything was fine... logged in this morning, and the crap was back

Dude, download and run Spybot - Search & Destroy. I've used Adaware and it doesn't get rid of some things completely (Gator is a good example), however Spybot killed it with no problem. Try Spybot and see if it takes care of it.

Sounds like there is a hidden file or something in there with a diffferent name. It re-installs all the deleted components on the next bootup.
See if you can find the thing and toss it out.

Yep, same here. Spybot did it when Adaware didn't. I run both about every week or so.
