STB DVD decoder at pcliquidator for $2.39 working?

I was looking at the site and noticed a hardware DVD decoder card for $2.39. The catch is that they have not gotten it to work. I have no idea how much time they spent trying but maybe someone here has a Gateway with this card in it? This may not be a hot deal since vid cards tend to have decoding ability and processors are so powerful now, but maybe for somewone with an older comp or secondary.

Specs from the site:
These cards were made by STB for use by gateway. We purchased a large quantity of these cards and can't seem to be able to figure them out (perhaps I am dumb?)

We have the drivers for the cards and are unable to make them play a DVD. To be completely honest, we are not going to spend any time to figure them out at the price we are selling them for!

Product Features:
PCI Slot
Toshiba MPACT! Chipset
Feature Connector Support
Driver ONE
Driver TWO
Digital Video Out

System Requirements:
PCI Slot
Video Card with Feature Connector (Most Do!)
Time to spend figuring it out?

I believe someone posted that they have a propriery connection not present on non-gateway PCs. Compgeeks selling a similar product from a Gateway (but it does function as a video card at least, tv/video portion doesn't function).

Bad deal. No one has figured out how to get them to work except
in the particular machine they were manufactured for. This
was all hashed out a couple of months ago.

Total crap, priced accordingly. Stay away.

MPACT is archaic chip from the era of Voodoo1. It was abandoned years ago and there are no chances of releasing newer drivers for any OS ever.
Still I have to admit the price is very low so you can use the board for spare parts.

Another thing is that STB wrote the worst drivers for their video cards...even worse than ATI.

But I digress...I remember this deal posted a couple of months ago as well. You're better off spending more on a Creative or a Hollywood +.
