she is my best friend and still is my girlfriend. even if we broke up...we still would hang out and be best friends...just no bf/gf.

stayed friends, but not close. why when you share so much with one person would you want to become non-speaking enemies with them? (unless they are psycho or something)

Yep. Been good friends with one of my ex's for years. She's like a sister now. 😛

However, I loathe one of my other ex's, and I would say I'd like to see her run over by a Peterbilt - except she's a mother now. Glad I got off that train before it derailed. 😛

Same here.

yeap. my ex is a really close friend. in fact her daughters come over to play with mine all the time.

Yes and no....I guess it depends on how you are as a person and how she is as a person.

Personally, I dated a girl for over 2 years, even lived with her for about 9 months and it took a while but now we are decent friends
(talk on a phone a bit, bowled in a league together) and we have both dated others

Another ex of mine we only dated for a few months and we couldn't stand being friends...

QFT

I cut them off when the relationship is over. So far it has worked flawlessly and allowed me much enjoyment from the losers who can't get over someone they can't stand being around.
