Stay with I5-3570k or upgrade to I7-4770k

Hi,

My motherboard is going bad on me and I need to replace it. I broke one of the PCI slots. I currently have an I5-3570k. Should I buy another LGA 1155 motherboard or upgrade my processor to a I7-4770k and get a new LGA 1150 motherboard. My local Microcenter has the I7-4700K for $269 and you can get $40 off if you buy a motherboard with the CPU. I think I could get sell my a I5 on ebay for a decent price. Thanks.

Up to you, you have it sussed but I'd keep the i5 unless you really need that little more performance.
 
Can you wait the few weeks until Devil's Canyon comes out to see if or how much better they overclock than today's 4770K? If it is really good would that make a difference on how you look at an upgrade?
 
Really need the i7? If not:

i5 4670k for $190 and AS rock z87 pro3 for $55.- AR at Microcenter

Sell 3570k for $160-180 on ebay

Total cost to you roughly $75.-
