Stay with 2000 Pro or move to XP for my notebook?

I recently picked up a notebook with a 1400x1050 screen and was wondering if it was worth moving to XP for the clear type feature? Does 2000 have this feature? I've also heard that XP is better for gaming. I'm hoping that if I did decide to switch to XP I could sell the 2000 that came with it since I didn't register it. I doubt that though since it came on the Compaq restoration disks.

i think win2k has this feature, but you have to get it separately. you may want to do a google search.
i like to play with OSes, so id install winxp and see how i like it. then if it didnt do it for me, then id go to win2k.. but if you like doing things once, or have data that you cant back up or whatever. you may just want to do things once.

you probably wont get much for 2k since of the restore discs.. lol

id keep win2k just in case you ever want to use it 🙂

I'm pretty sure that the Compaq restore CD's check the system to make sure it's a Compaq before restoring the data. Therefore, it'd pretty much be useless to anyone who didn't have a Compaq computer.
