I visited the site and I saw some newspaper-like articles, and was wondering if any of it was real. I don't believe it, but if someone can reference material in this thread, maybe I'll change the way if/and when I watch the movie.

Otherwise, definetly a thriller since Ring 1 (Ring 2 was a joke, personally).

Am I the only one here who thinks it's ridiculous for you to even suggest that the movie might be real? Plus, any american horror film has no chance of matching a Japanese film when it comes to horror.

good hell.... ARE YOU SERIOUS~!?

I watched Ringu2 the Jpn version and I watched Ring 1, and Ring 1 with Hollywood studio quality effects destroyed Ringu2. Are you being sarcastic, because you're doing a good job at it.

Exorcist ("the version you haven't seen") is based on a true story.

effects do not a good movie make. simplifying everything and explaining all the details while having flashy graphics and loud sounds are not what a good suspense/horror movie should be about. the japanese originals tend to work the story and psychologically frighten you...seldom does an American remake of a Japanese film actually improve it...same goes for almost any remake.
