In IE 5.5 SP1 click on VIEW and select STATUS BAR.

You can also select to see the Address Bar. Select VIEW/TOOLBARS. In its side menu you can select several more bars to see.

You can try different items to be seen on screen. If you like them keep them. If you do not go back into those same menus and remove the selection by clicking on it. They are on/off toggles.

Have fun checking that out. :D

Thanks johnlog.

I guess it is time to upgrade to IE 5.5 SP1 because in 5.01 it won't let you chose status bar when in full screen mode to my knowledge.

johnlog: I am using IE 5.5 SP1 on win2k and your little "trick" doesn't work for me. You just described how to do it in normal mode, but it doesn't work for fullscreen (F11) mode :(

Yes, I see what you mean. But you can hit F-11 and that is a toggle between full screen and normal modes.

In full screen mode that clears out several status types of lines. I suppose that is why it is called the full screen mode.

I find it no problem to hit F-11 to toggle between the two modes as it happens in a split second.

I suppose one would have to reprogram Windows in order to change how F-11 full screen mode works.

Thank you kindly ammarrafiq.

It never occurred to me to first turn on the menu bar to then add the status bar and then turn the menu bar off again. It's always the little things eh.

Thanks. That was a little pet peeve of mine.

Cheers.
