statue of liberty is worth $10k

Price gouged set is price gouged. If that's an actual lego set it likely sold for much less upon initial release. Many of these big sets fetch huge mark ups after they've been out of print for a while. $3 a piece is just insane lol.

Now, the Imperial Flagship...

That's the one that got (sailed?) away. 🙁

It is my dream to buy buckets and buckets of loose legos one day and create a giant urban city with 10 foot tall skyscrapers and everything.

Watch The LEGO Movie. 😉

LEGO (I'm talking about playing with them as a kid, not the company itself) is about putting together your imagination into a physical toy to have fun with. Collectors are just out to make a buck.

Collectors collect. If they are willing to out pay you for an item then boo hoo hoo.

i read that legos are one of the most shoplifed toys at walmart cuz they are worth so much on ebay. when i was a kid we had tons of legos, i never realized they were an expensive toy

With how expensive lego pieces are, I wonder if it's cheaper to 3d print them. Would that be considered piracy? :hmm:
Wow, I never thought of this.

I could print legos now! Legos are ABS and they make ABS 3D printers with very high resolution. (16 micron)

I wish I had every single piece of lego I have ever owned or stepped on. I would put them in one big room with no furniture. If the kids wanted any furniture they better well make it!

I want a secret room like this like house bolton where they wear legos like clothes!@

Legos carry the price because they are WORTH it. You have tons of building diagrams and the like plus fit and finish is impeccable. My parents invested heavily in these for me when I was a kid and I think it taught me a lot about spatial relationships and how to visualize complex 3-D models from simple parts.

There are tons of block systems out there much cheaper.

LEGOs are fairly cheap to get if you buy bulk used, it's really just the collector sets (crazy expensive) and the regular new ones (expensive) that are a bit out there... but then again, they are some of the best toys your kids will ever play with.
