Hey gang....I know you're an intelligent bunch so I figured I might try here because I'm rather lost. I'd like to quote some statistics on the breakdown of minorities vs. the majority (whites obviously) in major sports, for a major paper on Jackie Robinson for college. I've tried searching for it for a couple hours to no avail :( , and I certainly don't wanna make them up ( ;) ). If anyone can help, that would be awesome , if not, it's ok :)

there have been numerous articles in sports sections pointing out that, for example, the nfl has only two black coaches (I think it's at 2), has numerous black coordinates whose units put up big numbers, but continues to hire white coaches whose previous coaching records are terrible. I'd suggest finding one of those and quoting it

In sports other than NHL and Nascar blacks are the majority and whites are the minority.

Piku:
you have to specify whether you are referring to owners and coaches or players. the NBA has a lot of black players but few black owners and coaches. ditto the nfl. NHL is almost entirely white.

I think in the MLB, it's about an even number of black, white, hispanic players, with a handful (maybe 10-15) of asian players.

i think in a few more generations, most major sports will be dominated by black athletes. if hockey became the "in" thing for black youth, then they'd dominate the NHL too
