I have an old Rosewill (i think) DVD drive, Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96 sound card, and Cyberlink Power DVD.

When i play DVDs, the sound quality is really bad and has a constant ticking. I just tried out the newest version of power DVD, too but same problem. If i use WMP, i get good sound, but it freezes pretty easily. I just checked the the audio cable from the drive to the card, and its all connected too.

So i think the problem may be in my sound card (which has had issues with compatibility before, like in a few games) or the drive. What do you guys think?

Yeah try a new sound card. BTW, you do not need that audio cable attached to your cdrom.
