Static with my X-Gamer in Win2k...

I have noticed that I occasionally get static and seemingly overly-loud sounds while playing games with my SB Live! X-Gamer. This only seems to happen in Win2k. I'm using the Liveware3 drivers. Any ideas?

Turn down the volume of wave/direct sound and play control, and turn up the volume of the speakers. That should fix it.
