Static sounds on Gigabyte GA-7VRXP

I just built my friend a computer using the gigabyte GA-7VRXP. I am using the onboard sound with latest drivers but there seems to be a lot of static sound coming from the speakers. I tried various speakers and also headphones. I can't figure out what's wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks.
 
BUMP.. sorry for the frequent bumping, but I really need to know if this is a common or fixable problem. If not, I have to RMA it quick before time runs out. If it is a fixable problem, I don't wanna spend $30 on shipping.
