Ok here's my problem. I just picked up a Linksys BFSR41 router and I want to have all of my PC's on Static IP's because I'll be hosting a BBS, FTP and other stuff. Right now I have one PC hooked up. Now if I go into the configuration of the router and turn off DHCP then give my current machine the IP of 192.168.31.101, subnet of 255.255.255.0 I then can't access the net. WHat is needed to access the net via my static IP? Also when I change my DHCP to Static, I can't access teh Linksys configuration IP either.

Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all...

Well, you probably need to set the gateway on your PC as the ip of the router. Setting up DNS servers on the PC would also be a good idea. These things won't get set automatically if you aren't using DHCP.
