okay, here's the problem.....
i recently formatted my hard drive, and only now got around to installing the drivers and software for my tv-tuner. now, when i plug the line-out from the tuner to the line-in my audio gets a background hiss.
i get the same effect when i leave the tuner unplugged and turn up the volume on my line-in, but it is usually intermittent
i think it might be drivers, but i can't download them at home because i have @&%! dialup...won't be able to get them for a few days....could this be my problem?
thank you to all replies in advance, i only check every few days

Recently there have been a few posts on this issue... regarding buzzing/hissing out of various speaker setups. Almost always it is the result of a tangled mess of cords & wires around the PC and any other stuff you have plugged in around your geek area. ;)

My advice would be to arrange your cords and to see if the sound persists or becomes less prevalent.

edit: also make sure it isn't interference from another device ie. TV
