Static hand "cursor" at bottom of screen

Just upgraded vid drivers on laptop (HD Radeon 5870m) to cat 15.7.1. Now there is a small hand cursor stuck at the bottom of the screen. Regular mouse cursor (arrow) is fine, but what and why is there a miniature hand cursor frozen on the screen? Even shows up in games...just "there" doesn't move. :'( How do I get rid of it?
