The destruction of America continues. These people are pure evil. Can you believe this shit?

Does anyone not think it's time now to separate the country so the rest of us are not beholden to the religious right of loons?

Meh, when I read into this one, it seems the issue is more how the Maine rural subsidies were created, in that the state created a program that excluded certain schools with nary a means test/qualification, which could be seen as a violation of First Amendment rights. Other states have voucher programs that are not exclusive, which is why Maybe is being singled out here. So it’s a bit more of a nuanced argument, but hardly surprising which way a Conservative court with 3 Catholics might be leaning.

It's pretty clear from the justices statements this is about carte blanche religious schools can get taxpayer funds. I don't care what other states do it, it should not be legal.

I may be biased, as I’m the product of a publicly-funded Catholic school in Ontario, Canada. I think parents should have a choice of schools based on performance, regardless of their income/means.

That said, I’m also a damn proud atheist, and I thank my Catholic headmasters and teachers for their help guiding me towards enlightenment!

Yeah without context of this being in Maine and understanding the geographical logistics there, I would not be happy about it. But this seems like a unique situation to them. This is a lot different than the voucher issues.

I don't think all religious schools are bad at all, I just think in no way should taxpayer dollars be used to make them an option via vouchers.
