Any idea when anything will happen? Are they expected to announce anything today?

You should take up arms. Try to secede. More of the country doesn't want you in it than do. This time don't let the door hit you on the way out. Take the confederate flag, it's all yours. We can see from the Anne Frank thread what you think about Jews. I'm sure your opinion of Muslims, gays and blacks is probably not far behind.
Bullshit, you're just trying to justify the mindset that there's nothing wrong with turning friends, neighbors and family into the authorities for punishment. When you betray every decency to turn in fellow citizens to an authoritative and illegal bureaucracy. You're the type of person that turned in the Jews and forced them to wear the yellow stars and sent them to concentration/work/internment camps, not me.

When i said in that thread "social justice lynch mob" you were one of the people i was referring to.

So far, no breaking news. I don't know what the court schedule is, but I guess it's in progress since we have responses from the states being sued. The best response to this by the SCOTUS would be the response to PAs suit. It would bring me great pleasure though to see what levels of suck up a human can lower themselves to by having Ted Cruz plead the case.

Reply briefs from the 4 states were due at 3pm today. I think tonight is highly unlikely. To quote CNN:

When will we hear from the court?
The Supreme Court is going through standard procedural protocols, placing the case on its docket. Each of the four states responded Thursday afternoon. Pennsylvania's reply was blistering, accusing Texas of using a "cacophony of bogus claims" to support a "seditious abuse of the judicial process."
The court could act after those filings arrive or wait until Texas files a brief replying to the arguments made by the battleground states. The justices acted quickly in rejecting the Pennsylvania lawsuit on Tuesday, but they could bide their time as they have in other election-related cases.
They do "meet" Friday for their regular conference, now held over the phone.
Unlike a traditional cert petition (request for the court to hear a case), it will take five justices to agree to allow Paxton to file his suit.

You are so fucked in the head. I've encountered people like you and they usually are Evangelicals, so there is a decent chance you are one, but often some other type of wackadoo. There are quite a few types of right wing wackadoos these days.

I mean first of all most people aren't calling on their neighbours for having large gatherings. That just isn't happening. They may look down on them and disapprove, but most probably aren't calling it in. But regardless, comparing getting maybe a casual warning or finger wag from sheepish police, or at worst a fine, because of, you know, spreading a pretty deadly virus around - to getting into a concentration camp and genocide for simply being Jewish, you are so so sick in the head. I mean seriously. You are a sociopath that is a danger and insult to humanity. And there are tens of millions like you, which is frightening.

You should have your own country. It grosses me out that I have to share one with you.

Every House member who signed on to this should be expelled from the House and every AG should be impeached.

One quarter of the House of Representatives and more than half of the Republican caucus is currently attempting to overthrow democracy.

Can any conservative give a reason how this party is in any way redeemable?

What really happens on Jan 3rd when Congress meets to vote on the EC results? Is it just a formality or do they have to vote on the votes, so to speak?

Does this present any opportunity for them to sabotage this thing?

Doesn't matter at this point, I mean they'll just do it or worse in 2024.

No they're not. And they know it. They're trying to undermine a national election and doing performance theater for the duped rubes like you that joined the alt-right-cult.

Taj doesn't have to believe any of it to troll us pretending that he does. He's just part of flooding the zone with shit. From the Georgia AG-

Texas nevertheless asks this Court to transfer Georgia’s electoral powers to the federal judiciary. Respect for federalism and the constitutional design prohibits that transfer of power, but this Court should never even reach that issue because the Court’s rules governing its original jurisdiction, constitutional limitations on standing, and principles of federalism all preclude the exercise of this Court’s original jurisdiction over Texas’s belated action.

Yet the Federalist Society supports the suit. Go figure.

No meaningful way, no. For a set of electors to not count both the house and senate must agree. Since Democrats have the house that obviously won’t happen.

It's Jan 6. There's room for some GOP grandstanding but the rules are ultimately against them after governors sign off on the slate of electors from their states, which happens Monday w/o injunctive relief from the SCOTUS. Not bloody likely.

Unless the USSC declares that there were too many irregularities along with too many instances of fraud and send the election to The House of Representatives. Which there is precedent in doing and which they did in 1876.

The American experiment is effectively on a big downhill trajectory thanks to the former Republican party and now Trumper party, but we will be able to enjoy these fascist cultists feeling shitty for not having their narcissistic whiny pathetic criminal in chief cult leader installed in the White House, even as they take the country down with them via the Senate and other local governments. At this point if they DON't try to overthrow democracy everytime they lose an election, any Trumper party will be seen as a TINO, Trumper in Name Only.

Country is done.

Lol... this from the crowd that says that all liberal speech should be outlawed as 'treason,' that all Democratic voters should be disenfranchised as 'illegal,' and that the military and the police should be used against their political opponents. Just fuck off already.

Since your wrote that in response to me, where have i ever said that "liberal speech" or ANY speech should be outlawed? I'll answer it for you. Never. Even labeled as treason? Never.
Called on Democratic voters to be disenfranchised as "illegal" maybe if they are illegal, but no sweeping claim.
When have I ever advocated using military or police against political opponents? Never.
or you are welcome to try to find where i said it.

Just like you constantly make accusations here based on guilt by association, I'm doing the same to you. And like I said, that is what your crowd says. All of those things, all of the time. Own it.

BTW, this particular liberal loves the 2a and is prepared to use it against all traitors to the Constitution. And I'm not alone. Your extremist ilk trying to make Trump a king is a small minority in this great nation, and you will not succeed.

The SCOTUS had nothing to do with the compromise of 1877 which has nothing to do with the situation today. Not a damned thing. Generations of black people all across the South got sold out in that deal.

The suit is preposterous, but that's where Trump shifted the Overton window, into the post-truth realm where authoritarian takeover might look good to some people.
