CHICAGO (Reuters) - Ohio's attorney general sued Best Buy Co. Inc. on Thursday, charging, among other things, that the top U.S. electronics retailer deceived consumers by repackaging used goods and selling them as new.

The complaint seeks a civil penalty of $25,000 from Best Buy for each violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act, Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro said in a statement.

Petro said his office received "hundreds of consumer complaints" in the past few years,

They apparently need to adopt a method of selling returned Product like Newegg has been so successful with.

Big surprise there. These guys got slapped about 10 years ago by the state of Minnesota.

BB makes a killing on thier rebate scams, my dad got ripped out of $400 digital camera rebate he was supposed to get. I'm surprised they have made it this long without getting slapped.

God how I hate Rebate crap. I go out of may way to avoid buying anything with rebates.

Should be 110% illegal, period. It is not opem market free trade because of that crap.
