Just switched coverage from Progressive to State Farm for my motorcycle.

Didn't realise how much I was over paying Progressive ($60 per month vs $22 per month for State Farm)

More money for gas each month. Woo hoo....

Went the other way for me; Progressive seemed to be the only insurer who wasn't giving me the "FU" price for having 0 years of riding experience.

GEICO quote was on the order of $1300 / year... $1100 for collision w/ a $1000 deductible on a $3400 bike.

I pay something like $60/month for comprehensive insurance on my 1999 Cherokee, with a $1000 deductible IIRC. Is that too much?

I pay double that for my car. Apparently, it's more expensive because it's a BMW. Doesn't matter that its almost 10 years old. It's still high cos it's German and supposedly expensive to fix. Bahsturds. :colbert:

@DirthNader, Progressive was the cheapest option for me a year ago (with 0 motorcycle driving history). Now that I have driving history, it's not the cheapest.

I pay $30 a month for liability and uninsured/underinsured on my '97 Cherokee, coverage is $100k/$300k/$100k. I'm not sure how much comprehensive would add.

what kind of coverage do you have on your SV?

Oops, $75/yr.

Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability $39.00
Bi $25,000 Each Person - $50,000 Each Accident
Property Damage Liability - $25,000 Each Accident
Uninsured Motorist $21.00
$25,000 Each Person - $50,000 Each Accident
Medical Payments $1,000 Each Person $15.00
Total Premium by Vehicle: $75.00

Yeah, those are pretty low. On my policy going to to $100k/$300k/$100k cost very little.

Fuck State Farm. I have home owners, and two vehicles with them.... At a good rate. Went to add bike and they told me "We aren't known for motorcycle insurance"... this is after seeing an advertisement contrary to that statement.

They were about $800 a year more for the same coverage as Progressive... Guess who I went with at a higher coverage amount and still ended up far cheaper?

State Farm FTL. Kept upping both car policies $30-50 every 6 months over my time with them without any claims. Went with Citizens and saved myself $1000/year.

Had the greedy m'fers just kept it near the initial rates I signed up with I'd still be a customer and they would have kept making easy money.

Going from/to:

Damage: 25/50/25 100/300/50
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: 25/50 100/300
Medical Payments: 1,000 25,000

Brings me from $75 to $303.

this is my GS500f on statefarm. oddly for a noob rider and at the age of 25 they were the cheapest. I think i'll lower some next year around. I think i'm WAY WAY over covered. my motorcycle cant damage THAT MUCH.

You guys do any silly tricks to lower the payments in the winter months? I only get about 4 months of riding in chicago.

$100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident / $100,000 each accident
$45.55
Medical Payments
$1,000 each person
$33.49
Comprehensive Deductible
$100
$35.13
Collision Deductible

Uninsured Motor Vehicle -Bodily Injury
$100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident
$107.52
Underinsured Motor Vehicle
$100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident
$66.52
