Yikes, I just realized I forgot to pay my wife's car insurance to State Farm. It was due on 11/5.

I just logged in and made an online payment, hope they don't give me any trouble, glad she wasn't in any accidents in the last 8 days.

Been a multi line customer for 15 years without a single late payment issue before.

Think anything will come of it?

    u have like a 30day grace period

why not set auto pay so u know date to pay. then just change the amount?

I have had State Farm for almost 15 years myself. You will have a grace period as stated by JEDI, so no, nothing will come of it.

thx guys, just the same, I'm going to have her drive our other car that wasn't paid late for the next week or so until that payment shows up on my CC statement.

I work from home so can be a hermit for a few days.

As others have said, grace period.

I get an additional discount if I let AllState auto-deduct the premium from my account. Might be worth considering.

Yup grace period. You usually pay for a month in advance when you begin an auto policy, just in case something like this happens.

Call them and make sure your rates don't skyrocket for lapse of insurance.

I'm with Infinity when I pay late I get charged $6 bucks, I'm going to assume they love people who don't pay on time.

You should be fine with the company but you may be in trouble with your DMV. If your state has an automated system to verify coverage your carrier will be legally required to report you as uninsured for the days you were late.

Is your insurance agent also a loan shark?

Nice car. It'd be a shame if something were to happen to it...

It's mainly the credit card industry that did away with a grace period to rape it's own customers.

and why did we as a people allow them to do away with the grace period?

I don't like autopay. sometimes it can be a royal pain to get it stopped if you ever need to.
