I see you left out the natural part of citizen.

Birther! :sneaky:

lol

I actually think it would be awesome if Obama invited The Donald to the White House, sat The Donald down in the Oval Office, whipped out his Hawaii birth certificate and then punched The Donald in the nose. Hell I would probably vote for the guy if he did that.

And I'll again touch on something I said earlier. We allow people to stream over our borders with very little concern. Some come to seek a better life, and some come to destroy us. It's OK to come here but by golly we're going to catch you when you want to leave? Makes no sense.

I beg to differ.

In the Obama related threads I've mentioned the potential problems with delayed BC's. You sneak over here illegally, claim your 2 yr old kid was born here but at home and not a hospital voila! there's your anchor baby etc.

In addition to stopping identity theft, this looks like the State Dept is having concerns about the states' issuance of delayed BC. IMO, that's justified.

Those that hopped the border to get here illegally will hop it to get out.

So what?

That's a seperate/different issue/problem.

The law abiding citizens are the ones targeted by this proposed change. Why is that?

Disagree.

How are identity thieves and illegals law abiding citizens?

Pretty much. The only question is the level of detail. E.g., can I remember the exact date I started working at Maples Concrete Co. when I was 13 yrs old? Maybe, but if not I wouldn't be off by more than a month or two.

As to your question of 'cost' etc., I think a quick review of SS records or tax records might be enough to establish that the applicant is not an identity thief. E.g., it's easy for me to remember my summer jobs during high school 35 yrs ago, but a thief wouldn't know about those. Those jobs can be easily confirmed with access to SS records.

I notice the matter of delayed birth certificates seem to be of concern. I find that interesting. The questions most seem to object here are for those who were issued a delayed BC after 1 year of birth. I strongly suspect these are the types of question required for, and found on, a delayed (type #2) BC anyway.

I really don't see a better alternative for those who cannot provide adequate documentation (a normal BC).

A common sense answer and one I can live with. Your SS tie-in makes perfect sense. I guess I take things too literally. I see all these questions and I want to answer them all and answer them correctly. It disturbs me to know that I couldn't.

We've both got passports anyway so it's neither here nor there for us. :)
