Stat Goals for year end and next year?

Sometimes it's tough for me to decide on a goal. For several years my focus was on doing well in a competition that became tarnished by cheating and mismanagement. After leaving that, I started looking at projects where my world standing was poor. Unfortunately, those tend to be long-running projects where it's really hard to move the needle even with sustained effort. So lately I've been combining that with just working on stuff that I like. Also if a project or sub-project is nearing completion, I think it is fun to get as much credit in it as possible before it ends.

I guess I am all over the place! :tearsofjoy:

My personal stat goals are different than most, but they are what interest me and keep me going.

I almost never even look at my total credits, and try not to use any projects (like Collatz) to artificially increase that number.

My personal goals are to participate in every project to some degree, and to get "milestones" in as many projects as possible so that my Free-DC milestones chart continues to make me smile. 🙂

I know that I'll never have enough production to be anywhere near the top of the charts in the high credit milestones, but it makes me happy to have lots of lines with the number 1 in them. 😀

I also work towards these goals. At least the top half, no idea what the other mega milestones are. There's nothing I can do to to improve 1m and below rankings so I work on the 2.5mil and up.

WUProp hours are something I try to work towards. Atm its getting more apps to 25k hours.

What are WUProp hours?

WUProp@home is a non-intensive project that uses Internet-connected computers to collect workunits properties of BOINC projects such as computation time, memory requirements, checkpointing interval or report limit.

It gives stars once you reach 100 hours run time for a given BOINC app. The stars change colors at different intervals. Its a BOINC NCI project that runs alongside the processor intensive apps.

My stat goals for this year, or more general DC goals, were or are:
  • Help the TeAm as much as I can for a top finish in the Pentathlon.
  • Some suggested to put the TeAm in 1st in the 2022 PrimeGrid Challenge season, so I helped (and am helping) there almost as much as I can.
For a period right after the Pentathlon I took it down a notch or two, for budget reasons.
  • Help the TeAm as much as I can in the World Community Grid Birthday Challenge.
    This event was canceled though.
  • Otherwise, go a bit easier on DC than I did one or two years ago, due to high operating costs.
  • When CPDN work comes along and I don't miss it, work on that.
Due to the point before, I am not avidly buffering CPDN though.
  • After the PrimeGrid challenge this month at CUL+WOO, I decided to color-coordinate my PrimeGrid badges, without waiting for the 2023 challenge program. To this end, I did a bit of WOO, ESP, SR5, and WW. SGS is in the plans, but I've got CPDN to do first.

@StefanR5R These look like great goals and even better accomplishments!

Some events I predict will move around in time this next year, because of whatever and lack of work at certain times.

Though I hope we can all make the FHCHC better with a roulette of "twists" available for next year. More before the 2023 Hallows.

Looking forward to whatever events are able to run. Hope that some are medical related....

May we all continue to keep the pressure on whatever we want to keep the pressure on through 2023! 🙂

I will try to focus primarily on BoincGames, whether to grab us a spot here or there or to at least try to keep the pressure on if possible. If I can achieve badge and WuProp hour goals concurrenty so much the better.

Would like to get PrimeGrid to 1 billion and Collatz to 5 billion if it returns.
