Startup time on a i3 laptop seems long

I'd like an opinion on a HP laptop with these specs:
core i3-m370
3GB ram
ATI HD 530v video card
Win 7 pro 64 bit
Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 250 GB 7200 rpm drive.

The startup time seems long to me. From the time I hit the power button until everything is loaded, like when I see the desktop gadgets appear, is about 2 minutes . This is a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64 bit from a OEM disc, so there is no HP bloatware on it.

It's got Norton 2011 internet security on it ( yeah, it was free), but I have not noticed Norton causing slowdowns on desktop PCs I have built. It also has Office 2010.

Looks like I found the problem. I had installed Tuneup Utilities 2011, and used it to install a custom boot screen. I switched back to the regular default screen, and boot times are now a minute. very odd.
