Okay this is what happened, I took my puter's case off to install my new dvd burner. I replaced the dvd drive with the burner then closed the case up and poof nothing.

I opened up the case and it sounds like everything is starting normally but no video, so I switch out monitors and still nothing. I thought about switching vid cards but first I took out all the components < memory, Hd, drives > and I don't get any error beeps, shouldn't I get memory not inserted error? I plugged my hd back in < w/o memory still > and no error message or beeps and the hd sounded like it was being accessed. I'm thinking it is a cmos problem but i'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

When a system will not even post, the first thing you should do is remove all components from the motherboard except the CPU/fan, memory and video card. See if it boots like that. If it doesn't, try resetting your CMOS via the CMOS clear button, jumper, or by taking the battery out for a few seconds. Try it again after that. If still no go, try another power supply if you have a spare. Power supplies are notorious for systems not booting.
