I recently had a trojan infect my machine. I believe I removed the trojan but now my system boots into the homepage I use with IE.

It is a minor inconvenience to close the page and get back to the desktop, but I would like to get my system back to normal.

Does anyone know what I have to change to boot correctly into my desktop?

Thanks for your help.

Is there a shortcut to internet explorer in the startup folder in your start menu?

You can also look in msconfig (Start - run - msconfig) and look on the startup tab.

have you checked the registry for any run entries?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I want to thank both of you for your help. The problem was as " TGS" guessed, the IE program was in the run folder of the registry.

Thanks again for your suggestions.
