startup disk/s for Windows XP?

Does anybody know how those startup diskettes for Win XP can be created? Or am I supposed to download them from somewhere?

AFAIK, there is no startup disk "set" for XP yet. Either boot from the Win XP disk to install, repair, etc, or use a Win 9x startup disk then run repair or install from the XP CD.
If Win XP is already installed, you can right click the "a" drive and select format, the next menu will have an option to create a basic startup disk.

I remember reading somewhere that due to space constraints M$ has left out the images for the boot floppy. M$ will make them avaliable for d/l after the official launch date. I think.... 😱

Actually, if you click on A: under my computer -> format -> then "Create an MS Start up disk"

THat's the best you'll get at the moment. But it will boot your computer.

Actually, it is possible. The boot disks can be created on 5 diskettes.

go check out the www.xp-erience.org site and goto downloads, and towards the bottom of that page, you will see what they mention about [/b]XPpro Boot Disk maker[/b] application.

to get there, just click over ..... HERE

good luck 🙂
