Startup applications run twice

I admit I haven't seen this one before. Everything in the start|all programs|startup folder loads twice. I have no idea why.

I can see dual entries in msconfig, but if I remove one, both disappear.

Any ideas?

look in the registry for two values set for the same program. shouldn't be too tough to find. Some registry cleaners might take care of it

Open regedit and navigate to:

HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currnent version

Make sure there's only ONE "run" key in there. Also, in the "run once" and the "run once ex" folders there should only be a single key called "default". Also, make sure your "start up" folder is empty in the start menu.
