Since I'm planning on an upgrade, why the heck not?? =)

I usually "hand me down" pc components but my wifes computer w/ the athlon xp 3500 is doing just fine, so I guess I get a bit of wiggle room.

Did 3.01ghz on air w/ no voltage controls and can get it stable (though sometimes booting is an issue and never crashed, until I updated my bios....now it crashes =I)

will mess w/ memory voltages and some cpu core voltage....only minor changes.....

*crosses fingers*

pretty stable at this point, 3.1ghz w/ no cpu voltage increase, but i did jack the ram from 1.8v to 1.85 v. RAM spec is 1.8-2.0 v. Had issues getting windows to post at 3.1ghz without the ram v going up.

nice! 3.2ghz with 1.4v increase, memory to 1.85v

seems rock steady stable ;)

checking with HOI3 to see how many more days per minute it gets me lol

meehhhhh, I crash when I play ARMA2 at these settings =(. Tried ram voltage at 1.95 and no luck. Might need to raise the CPU V a tad bit more

i have the CPU at 1.45V and the memory at 1.95V and I can play it without it crashing, but prime95 is giving me issues....meh! I guess if the games run fine then maybe prime95 just doesnt like my pc

K ARMA2 is very very stable at 3.2ghz w/ 1.45V CPU and 1.95V RAM

max load temp i've seen is 51-52C ;)

I bet I could go further but the imporvements made so far going from 2.6ghz base to 3.2ghz OC are amazing =))))

You'll have no idea what hit you when you take a Phenom II to 3.8ghz :D

3.1 was tops for me to be 100% stable. This is using an Asrock SATAII 939 board with an AM2 riser card. It would run @ 3.2 with no voltage changes other than a tiny RAM bump, but its a workbench rig, so speed was not as important as stability.
