I have this Memory:
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...46563&name=Item-%23%3A-N82E16820146563
DEFAULT TIMINGS: 5-5-5-15

I just started Overclocking my system:
E6600
EVGA 680i

Air Cooled: Zalman 9700

I went straight for 2.4Ghz -to-> 3.0Ghz overclock. I'm testing that out now. Also with this first OC attempt I set the memory up to 1000 at it's default timings for the first time.

All through the OS setup and such of this new motherboard I've let the system run my new Ram at the default timings and underclocked at 800Mhz.

I'm wondering what to do with this RAM... I don't have a clue. I can see 4 choices:
A) Leave it at default timings @ 1000
B) Try to get better timmings @ 800
C) Try to get better timmings @ 1000
D) Leave it at default timings and try to go above 1000

What should I do here. I really don't care about pushing the memory hard at all - just something nice and gentle. I'm a total newb at this too, and I don't want to take a major risk at doing any damage.

Thanks for any advice...

Do DDR2-800 4-4-4-12-1T and your CPU will do 3.2Ghz at 400Mhz FSB. You'll have a faster system than I do because 1T command rate on your 680i is faster than DDR2-1200 at 2T
