Starting to consider a graphics card for this build.

I have to wait about a month on this one (mostly because I have a big credit card bill from Christmas and the huge steam sale), but I'm starting to look at a graphics card upgrade to unlock the full potential of this build.

Here is the build.

i5 760

4GB 1333Mhz DDR3

Antec 300 Case

430W PSU

9800GTX

1440 x 900 display, play games windowed at 1360 x 768.

All the benchmarks I can find are on the 9800GTX+, and not the regular GTX. Also, this is an OC'ed BFG card (yes, it was horridly overpriced at Best Buy [$450]). Here are the options I am considering.

1. HIS 6850

2. PNY 460 1GB

3. 560????

Apparently, I did a little digging and the 560 is speculated to release early Q1 this year. What do you think this card will do for me the others will not?

One last thing, I'd like to keep the 430W PSU since I got it fresh with this build. I've looked at the 460 1GB and the 6850 and both seem to be under 330W at load, so I seem to be fine, but I obviously have no clue about the 560...

Thanks all, and GOOD MORNING!

Probably the 460 1GB...it'll handle everything at your resolution just fine. You'll want to start saving for a bigger monitor though before you upgrade it any further.

I know there are newer and faster cards available, but I'm happy as hell with the EVGA GTX460 Superclocked 1Gb card I bought for my new build.

Awesome, I also have a 27" Asus on my list, but I'm not planning that upgrade for a while. By that I mean it will be more than a year, maybe even two. I'm plenty happy making use of this monitor for now :).

Save up $200 and call me 2-3 days before you intend to buy. :awe:

In all seriousness, look for sales on the 6850 and GTX 460 1GB and buy whichever one you get a better price on.
