well you're off to a great start

oldsmoboat, what is "dropping a tab"
;)

you're bad

Verrry bad.

Olds you just got way cooler. I would have totally thought you meant called them for an update until others caught me up to speed.

I am misunderstood. People don't know how to react to someone who speaks their mind. Or what's left of it...

I could have but everyone can see my screen... I posted from my cell phone on the last update. I didn't do much during my first day. I don't like how the cubicles are lined up... there's no privacy. Four cubicles with no walls face one center point so I have to look at everyone's face all day or try to hide behind the computer screen. The position is related to equity research... (midtown financial firm)

I noticed a few things.

1) Humans are not meant to spend 40+ hours living in a cubicle.
2) Meetings are held just to waste time. I just sat in a few and observed. I have another scheduled for tomorrow :disgust:
3) Working sucks.

edit: I've had a previous summer experience working in a corporate setting so this isn't new to me, it just solidified my beliefs about humans not meant to live in a cubicle and that working sucks ass

I still don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be doing. I just read a bunch of crap about some new product the company is working on for the institutional investors
I'm here for short term and just want to absorb/learn everything I can

Did you grow the enterprise today? Did you develop any proactive value-added solutions to provide the customer with an innovative approach to management excellence? If not, might I suggest some team building will be the order of the day for tomorrow. Be sure to touch base first thing in the morning. Also, ask Ms Franklin about getting a blackberry for you. That cell phone is not in accordance with corporate IT policy.
