Starting multiple instances of an application from the taskbar in Windows 7

So, Windows 7 allows application icons to be pinned to the taskbar. When I start an application by clicking on such an icon the application starts but the icon cannot be pressed again until I close the application.

But what if I want to start yet another instance of the application? Anyone knows how to get around this limitation?

Or the easiest way- middle click will launch a new instance of the program.

Guess I should have read the cheat sheet. There must be one somewhere. Hope there aren't any more methods. I already feel very lame 😀 Anyways, thanks.
