I have been working on a seti web site for the past few hours today. It is obviously far from complete but please give my your suggestions and if you spot anything misspelled or incorrect. Link <<click on the Seti@Home logo and go to software, the SetiDriver page is the most complete.
Please give me all of your ideas, I'm bad at thinking of things to add.

I designed this at 1280x1024 using Internet Explorer, so let me know how it works with different browsers and resolutions.

Titanmiller, that is looking great! I love the way you worked up the SetiDriver page. Terrific. :D

Keep it up. ;)

Pretty good looking site except green on black is difficult to read, I had to use the select all trick to read it. Almost 50% of the population has some color blindness problem and for them it would be unreadable.

Thanks for the comments.
Color is easy to adjust so I'll play around with that and see what works out better. I probably wont update the online version until later tonight (03:00GMT).

Yeah it's looking good....but I too found it hard to read....on a TFT...not sure if it would be easier on a CRT?

Okay.
What resolution are most of you using? I just looked at it using 1024x768 and it doesnt look nearly as good as 1280x1024. The pictures on the software page are all pushed together and it looks really bad.

10x7 the graphics are pushed together, and part of the images are cut off.

1280x960/1280x1024 and 1400x1050 looks good size wise, however, on my LCD display, the green doesn't look all that brilliant against the black, but it isn't unreadable for me.

Content looks good however!!

Having a SetiQueue help page will be useful as well, with lots of piccies :) Feel free to take my explanation/text/links from the stickied SetiQueue thread if you wish to :)

Thanks Garry, I think once I get it all put together I'll do some tweaking. The whole thing is built inside of a table to allow for the navigation on the left and the content on the right, I'll see if I can try to make the nav a bit narrower.
I did my Solar System site in frames which turned out fairly good. However I felt like frames would not be necessary on this site since it will be much smaller.
Any suggestions on what color I should use for the font since green obviously isnt working out?

I plan on trying to do SetiQueue, but that would probably be a week long project. It took me almost an hour just do to the SetiDriver page (most of which was spent drawing the lines and numbering the 3rd pic).

Please no frames!

Frames are soooo 1998!! ;) Plus, it makes it much more difficult to pinpoint/bookmark a specific page :)

Tables and/or dynamic content is the way forward :) Also using CSS will make it a lot easier for you to change colour schemes and layout :) You can have it so you only have to add content to one menu "file", and that will be visible in all pages, without you needing to edit each individual page to add links :)

But i'll leave you to figure that one out ;)

That assignment taught me to hate them aswell.

Using a CSS would save Sooooo much time on that Solar System site, I think that is the most work I ever put into an assignment...did I mention I got 100.00% on it. ;)
Unfortunantly I dont know how to use a CSS or most other "advanced" HTML. I probably should have spent my summer vacation reading a HTML book.
