Started using Outlook 2000--how do I remove/deactivate Outlook Express?

I'm trying to move from Agent to Outlook 2000 for e-mail. Sometimes when I try to send an e-mail in outlook, outlook express launches instead, capturing the sent mail in its own independent directory.

There has to be a simple way to fix this, but the help is unrevealing...can anyone help me out? TIA! Dave

Change the default mail program from Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Programs.

Or see Q186218 or Q256219 to really remove OE.

To Uninstall Outlook Express

Don't uninstall Outlook Express since you will need it for news groups.
