Yeah, the "punishment" seems odd for a professional workplace, but whatever...I'm glad everything worked out for you. Just don't give the prick anything to run to the manager about and you'll be fine since your sales ability seems sound.

Spoke with the sales manager this morning, and I asked him if what the other salesman did was right or not? I told him EXACTLY how it happened and also I had the other salesmen (the one who started just before me) also tell the manager what happened. He spoke with the guy who took my sales, and the credit is being transfered to me, and he also has to give me three of his sales for the week. This is his first and last warning. Turned out very well for me. Also the reason the manager is making him give me 3 more sales is because he has pulled this ****** before with another person that was being trained at this location about 6 months ago.

Way to go. The squeky wheel gets the oil.

Haha, awesome! Its a good thing you brought it up. Lot of people might call you a snitch, but this isn't like stealing pens or pulling a prank. When it comes to your paycheck you have to look out for yourself. And the fact you're a sales guy, it doesn't make sense to shy away from confrontation. So I think you did exactly the right thing. :)

Nice job getting it worked out!!! I worked in commissioned sales for a bit while I was in college, and it can get pretty cut throat. It's amazing how fscking slimy people get when there's money involved.

Good deal. Once he gives you the 3 additional contracts, find a way to get him fired to eliminate the awkward work environment. :D

Only thing that sucks is that now you have to always watch your back around that scumbag. I'd just make sure I watch him as closely as he watches me, and if he screwed up I'd try to get him fired first.

Ordinarily I'd say that the best way to fix the hostile environment was to try to talk to this guy and work things out, but I don't think that someone that lies in your face and steals your money is someone that can or should be reasoned with.

The brazeness and stupidity of thieves somehow never ceases to amaze me.
