started messing with video on 6D, impressed with footage.

I decided to use the one feature I never really thought much about. When I bought the 6D November 2012 I primarily bought it just for shooting pictures.

I figured why not mess with the video and have some fun with it. Anyhow I created a custom B&W profile and used it for filming. Grading in camera nothing post.

I used a 35mm 2.0 IS lens (I really like this all purpose you cant go wrong with prime) and filmed using IPB format. Lighting was at night using ambient light.

I played it back on my 70 inch sharp 1080p tv set and WOW, the footage looks film like. I could see having plenty of fun now with the video mode. Anyone here use these DSLRs for actual real work?

Not "real" work but I use a mirrorless full-frame for YouTube crap. Coming from point and shoots, the low ambient light performance is insane. Image is pristine up to ISO 3200, noise is not off-putting to 6400 -- for me at least. Best part really is manual video. Didn't realize how useful it would be. I never film in auto anymore.
 
I love videos with my dslr. If you want to take your vids to the next level, check out what color grading is on YouTube
 
I shot a music vid...at 6400 and 12800 ISO...the usual IPB @24fps. It's pretty insane what this camera can do.
I did grade it using TR Replichrome though.

For photos I was maxing out at around ISO 2500/3200 for a clean shoot on my D600, but for video you think I can maybe try to punch it up a bit farther?

I shoot for YouTube and never check using full-screen. There's noise with ISO 6400 on my full-frame but it's not distracting to me unlike my point & shoot that starts tanking at ISO 1600.
