After playing Crysis for a while you get use to being able to sprint really fast and jump really high. I just started the first level of COD4 and I keep thinking I am running really slow. So far I like Crysis a little better because it didn't have everything you do timed. I do like the big boost in Frame rates though. But a nano suit with MAXIMUM SPEED would be really nice right now.

COD4 is a rail shooter with a little more movement.

It feels so limiting after playing Crysis. I wish I would have played COD4 first since so many people seem to enjoy it.

Crysis has it's flaws but gameplay, IMO, is not one of them.

I haven't played Crysis yet but you are in for a treat with Call of Duty 4, the single-player experience is intense, cinematic and engaging up to the very last moment, seriously, the campain is pretty darn short but there is never a dull moment, the mission with Captain MacMillan is epic.

One of my favorite games of 2007 on any platform, a perfect combination of great gameplay (both single and multiplayer), great graphics & sound and an intense level of presentation and atmosphere.

I definitely agree with that. It was nice just to run off into the hills if you got into something too deep, then pop back out and snipe some people. I'm sure cod4 will grow on me. I just should have played this one first. Once these games are done, what is the most similar game to play next? I have only played bioshock this year besides these.

Yeah, gameplay is pretty simplistic. If you stand and fight, the enemies respawn endlessly. If you rush or flank them, suddenly they fall back.

I played CoD4 for about a week, then went back to Counter-Strike... it's really hard to not have a sprint button, and for a while I thought someone had turned down the gravity

I've started a new campaign in COD4 after finishing it around a week ago, but I can't play it anymore, it's boring, because it's so scripted to death. There's barely any variations. At least in Crysis I have a much better freedom of movement and decisions (how to approach certain places and situations), which despite the scripted form of the story line makes it a superior game in my opinion, and it'd still be superior with graphics entirely equal to those of COD4, simply due to the less-linear nature of it (and that's the main reason why S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the game of 2007 for me).

But with that said, I must say now that the first time I played COD4, without knowing in advance what would happen, was an absolute blast, and it was very well conceived. Just like reading a book or watching a movie of a genre/type you like. I really liked it, I just don't see any interest now in playing it for a second time.

I kinda agree but playing on higher difficulties new options open up and there are at least a few ways to approach a certain situation, the only thing I don't like is the infinitely respawning enemies and the time-constrained missions.

Instead of starting a new campaign try playing the missions in arcade mode, the missions where you play as Captain Price (in the past) are definitely my favorite in the game.

I enjoyed Crysis a lot more then COD4 as well. I played COD4 first, and Crysis felt so much more unrestricted and non linear.

Hmmm, I admit I didn't thought about trying them in Arcade Mode. I'll give that a try, definitely.
