Startech HS & Fan - Anyone tried it?

I'm looking for a good heat sink and fan for my Duron 700. I'd like to get at least 900 out of it. Abit Kt7-Raid board. I was looking at this one which looks like a good Bang for the buck option. Startech HeatSink

any one try this one out yet? I did a quick search for startech in this forum but found nothing.

That's because no one is willing to try anything that looks like that.. I wouldn't trust it myself and not very many have reviewed it.. why don't you spend your money on a Tai Sol or something..
That's just my opinion tho so do what you want to do..

If you'd like to get to 1 gig I'd say get a Alpha PEP66.. use the 80mm adapter mod and with a good cfm 80mm fan you can clock that Duron to at least a gig with no problems.. but then again this will cost you around $40 to do..

I've found that if there isn't a thread on a heat sink in this forum, it's not a good sign. With guys like Mikewarrior2 around I don't think anything misses this group.

It'd be interesting to try. .64C/W does not sound too good, though.

One thing, with socket-thermistor readings, you can easily manipulate them. Just Take a radio-shack squirrel cage fan aimed at the socket and you can drop your "cpu temp" by 10C.
