I have just installed a new hard drive and DVD drive into my desktop. The trouble is now the monitor is refusing to switch on yet everything else seems to be working. I'm sure i've had this problem before but i can't remember what i did to sort it out. I've checked the graphics card and there is no problem there. Can anyone help me out?
 
Try reseating the ram and other componants, as well as the cables. Sounds like you've got a bad connection or loose wire somewhere.
