"start surfing the web 78% faster" ???

There is a program that promises to load webpages up to 78% faster, but I am not sure it works. The webpage is THIS. Does this really work? And is it really free, or is it some kind of trick?

just beef up your rwin setting, worked for my connection

rwin setting huh? How do you do that? And does it cause any problems with heat or anything? I have a pretty old computer, PII 233mhz. In fact, when I think about it, it's ancient!

I originally used a program called speedtec found it at downloads.com it changes registry settings

(I couldn't tell you where to find them manually)

That program expires though, I also have a program called Checkit NetOptimizer which came in a package for "Checkit Suite" diagnostic and benchmarking software..

I was able to change the Rwin setting with that without it loading anything that stays resident on my machine. I'm sure there's a bunch of folks who could tell you how to just edit the registry to change the value. With my RWIN setting changed to 23360 [don't know what it was originally] I noticed a difference in my speed (I am on cable, don't know if that's useful to know or not) and there's PLENTY of places to test the before and after at TestMySpeed.com
