Start->Run->open desktop folder doesn't work with SP2 anymore?

I keep a lot of folders on desktop and access it via start->run->folder name. I used it all the time pre-sp2 but since sp2, this is the one feature that has broken for me. Anyone else experience similar behaviour?

It exhibits a little weirdness too. For instance;

Start->Run->Desktop works,
Start->Run->Desktop\Any folder name with a space in it works
Start->Run->Desktop\Any folder name without a space does not work

Yeah but the point is to navigate files quickly without having to futz with the mouse :|

I can do it with the full path, but I used to able to do it using just folder name\

i.e. on desktop there is a folder called photos, so I hit start->run->photos\ and it opens :(
