Start investing in gold

Are you referring to actually having the physical metal in your possesion, or paper investments such as a mining stock mutual fund?

I also recommend Video Professor CD's and timeshares for cash.
Almost missed the sarcasm before I read the second line 🙂

Gold is an awful investment. $10,000 invested in an S&P 500 stock index mutual fund in the '70's would be worth $80,000+ today, while $10,000 invested in gold would be worth . . . $10,000.

Gold is either to prepare for a Road Warrior future, or to gamble on in short-term trades to lose money fast, it's a bad way to invest for retirement. Even if we do end up Beyond the Thunderdome, guns will be a better investment than gold.

You can buy gold coins. Pretty simple to store.

US Mint sells American Buffalo Gold Proof one ounce coin which are .9999 pure (24kt). These are actually the first pure gold coins issued by the US Govt. Or you can buy the popular American Eagle gold proof coins which contain 91.67% (22kt) gold.
